(Formerly Potentilla verna) A cheery spring-flowering perennial, excellent as a pathway edging, in the rock garden or at the front of a sunny border. Clusters of small yellow buttercup flowers nestle among the green leaves in late spring. Forms a low mat, easily divided in early autumn. Requires good drainage. Evergreen in mild winter regions.
