Rubus calycinoides
|
Native to Taiwan. An evergreen groundcover that forms a dense carpet with long spreading branches covered in emerald green, thick, textured leaves. The leaves have white undersides and may turn red in cooler fall evening temperatures. Small white flowers are produced in late spring to early summer followed by edible, gold to salmon-coloured fruit. Fruit are not highly flavoured. Great durable foliage groundcover for part shade to sunny areas. Excellent pest-free lawn substitute and allows for light foot traffic. Prune long spreaders back almost anytime. |
